The Center

Camp Sonshine Center Foundation, Inc. is a registered as a non-stock, non-government agency through the Security and Exchange Commission founded on July 8, 2003 in the Philippines.  It is a multi-faceted organization with various avenues of outreach aimed mainly at impoverished children, youth, and their families.

Starting out as the first international location of Maryland based Christian day camp, Camp Sonshine, Camp Sonshine Philippines set out to give fun, interactive, and impacting summer day camp experiences to children in the Philippines. Jesse and Kay Landis began Camp Sonshine Philippines in 1999 as the first international camp planting ministry for Camp Sonshine. Other Camp Sonshine International locations can also now be found in Nebraska, Kenya, South Africa,  and Guatemala.

Every summer since 2000, Camp Sonshine Philippines has held one-week session camps all over the Western Visayas Region. The need to reach out to the children year round created the desire to establish Camp Sonshine Center. The Center holds year round activities for the many street children and their families in Iloilo City. Activities within the Center include a feeding program, after school program, preschool, youth group, parents club, and Saturday children’s church. Through daily interaction with the staff, the love of God, and meeting personal needs, many street children are being ministered to and changed.
